Best of 2014

Well hello there! It's been forever since I've last blogged. *a year and a half to be exact* I'm back now! Since I blogged absolutely nothing, nada from the year 2014, I thought 'Hmm, why not cramp the whole year in a single post!'. It's been a great year for me, and I travelled quite a bit in 2014.

Here are my highlights in 2014:

January
Post exam trip to Krabi, Thailand and it is time to relax. A very beautiful place with amazing beaches, islands and delicious food!

SMILE :)

With the sexy ladies and it was freaking windy that day

I had my first Thai massage in Krabi and it was absolutely amazing! Really enjoyed myself with this bunch and in overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable trip! :)

April
We had our Prom/ Farewell party, themed 'The Great Gatsby' in April! We're all dolled up and enjoying the end of our second year and looking forward to third year in the UK!

Look at all the colours!
And I won best dressed! :D
A really great farewell party thrown by our juniors and thank you! See you guys soon!

Next, I went for the Charity Chicken Run at Sunway where you run while holding on to an egg. And we've got free tickets to Sunway Lagoon! Well I didn't exactly 'run', more like 'walk'.

And we had a mini party at Louis' house in Serendah. We had steamboat, barbecue and ikan bakar! Had lots of fun chatting, cooking/eating, fishing and playing games till dawn!
Preparing food for steamboat
BBQ oh yeah!

June
Finally done with Year 2 and off to Penang we go! We catch the midnight bus and reached Penang 6 hours later.

On our way, 6 hours of bus!
Reached at 4am and we all look like happy zombies!

What in the world did we do at 4am in the morning, you say? Roam around the streets like lunatics until 7am and off we go to the Escape Park, without any sleep or whatsoever.

Escape Park
Monkey bars!
Sweat like a pig after Monkey Bar! But it is really fun and exhilarating! We head back to the hotel for a nap after this since we had no sleep the night before.

At night, we had hawker food for dinner and it is one of the best meal ever!

Us enjoying our food!
Oh wa jian or something lol. Yummy!
Not to forget, Penang's famous Char Kuey Teow! Taste like heaven!
Love this ikan bakar!

One of the places that I have been wanting to visit: Cat cafe *meow* The cats are just too adorable!

A really cozy seating area
Excited to visit the cat cafe!
This is Leo. Very active and loves running around!

This is Orange. So fluffy and grumpy!

We went straight to Perhentian Island right after Penang! Clear sky, blue sea, what more can I ask?

We went snorkelling and I saw turtles for the first time! An amazing experience with the turtles! But I did not manage to catch a glimpse of the sharks. :(

At night, we went over to Long Beach where all the nightlife is. We got to watch a fire show there and it was WICKEDDD! Really enjoyed myself here at Perhentian Island. It is a really great place to relax and enjoy the sun.

August
Family trip to Malacca. Had fun eating and shopping around Jonker Street and enjoying a relaxing trip with my family before heading to the UK!

September
Farewell dinner with my girls before heading to the UK. Oh how I missed you guys!
Steamboat dinner with my besties before I leave for UK.

And finally we are in the UK *after 14 hours of flight* and ready for a new chapter!
We've reached Birmingham airport!
The house we rented is really nice and cozy and the landlady is really friendly! A great start in the UK. I was a little homesick for the first few days as I'm leaving home for the first time. All is well as I got over it pretty quickly. On the bright side, I finally have my own room and I can decorate it the way I like it! Got a slight fever when I first arrived, maybe it's because I'm not use to the cold weather here.

My first trip to London was free! I signed up for Dikir Barat to perform in the Malaysian Festival at Trafalgar Square. A really great experience and I really enjoyed it!

What have I always wanted to do in London? To watch 'The Phantom of the Opera' at 'Her Majesty's Theatre' of course! Met my college friend and went to watch the show together!

October
Su Yin finally came for a visit in Nottingham! Had loads of fun catching up with her after a year! We went to Wollaton Park a.k.a Wayne Manor and later that night we went to the Goose Fair.

A sunny day at Wollaton Park

My first Europe trip was a weekend in Brussels, Belgium. The waffles, the chocolate is oh so very good! We went to a nice little restaurant called Noordzee Mer du Nord and oh my god, the seafood is so damn good! I loved the escargot soup and the tuna is so so good!

Winter trip to Prague and Budapest. Both city have really beautiful architecture and the buildings look absolutely stunning. My favourite spot from this trip is Prague's Charles Bridge. Love the ambience there and the bridge is just so so so beautiful!

Budapest has a bridge too, namely Chain Bridge that spans across River Danube between Buda to Pest.

The Hungarian Parliament is really impressive. We took a little tour in the parliament and it looks a amazing inside and the night view is just remarkable.
